Same-Sex Marriage

My fellow classmate decided to talk about same sex marriage in blog stage 7, and I would like to say that I’m not a supporter of gay marriage but I don’t believe their reasons are correct. They start off by saying “I believe that everyone has the same rights, but I don’t agree with same-sex marriage”, and completely contradicts themselves but then says because this country was founded under a god making same sex marriage legal contradicts the founding of America? I don’t believe the need for two long bible verses for a discussion of equal rights is really needed, not every decision made in government is based off the bible and yes it’s sad that the world we live in is so different from where it used to be but times have changed and I would rather hear reasons other than god and “I wouldn't like for my kid to be around something like that because seeing it everywhere makes kids think its okay and normal and it's not.”

Bias Facebook

In A recent article on CNN, the address the accusations that have been put on Facebook by a former Facebook contractor saying he witness other Facebook employees suppress the news about popular conservation topics from the trending sections and have more liberal viewpoints picked for the trending section. “The anonymous quotes in the report contributed to a long-held view among some prominent conservatives that Facebook, Twitter and other technology companies are infected by liberal bias.” Now no one really knows for sure if these accusations are true but Facebook is not really denying the suppression claims, this is a huge problem for the world especially during an election. More than one billion people are active on Facebook and use their features such as their “trending” section to see a lot of interesting articles and what is really going on in the world, which is a great resource, but when the articles that are being actually shown are bias towards one way it can really alter peoples views on a topic. Not knowing whether or not the information that your reading is bias or not from a website billions of people use is a major problem, “Humans, unlike algorithms, have hearts. And the company can't know for sure what was in the hearts of the workers who were selecting certain stories while rejecting others.”
